Resume Tailor conversation: the same career profile becomes an Engineering Manager resume and a Tech Lead resume.
Read the conversation
  1. You

Build my career profile. I have 7 years in software development and 2 years leading a team of 6. I use TypeScript and PostgreSQL and handle architecture and mentoring.

  2. Resume Tailor

Two details to confirm: have you conducted interviews and planned releases? Do you have any verified outcome metrics?

  3. You

Yes, I conducted technical interviews and planned releases. I have no figures for delivery speed or revenue.

  4. Resume Tailor

Your profile is ready. I saved your experience and the details you confirmed. For each vacancy, we will select the relevant facts from this profile.

  5. You

Tailor my resume for an Engineering Manager role: team leadership, hiring and release planning. Managing other managers is a plus.

  6. Resume Tailor

Your profile confirms team leadership, interviews and release planning. Experience managing other managers is not yet confirmed.

  7. Resume Tailor

Your Engineering Manager version is ready. It focuses on the team and organizing work. The wording is based on facts from your profile.

  8. You

Now tailor it for a Tech Lead role: architecture, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and mentoring. Use the same profile.

  9. Resume Tailor

Your Tech Lead version is ready. The facts are the same; their order and emphasis now reflect the requirements of the new vacancy.

  10. You

So I keep one profile and get a separate resume for each vacancy?

  11. Resume Tailor

Yes. We keep your full experience in one profile and use each resume to show what matters for the chosen role.

One career profile. Different resumes.

A resume holds only part of your experience. Onboarding helps collect the rest from your resume and work notes, asks about gaps, and saves or updates your profile for the next application.

  • Roles, dates, and projects
  • Responsibilities and your contribution
  • Skills and technologies you used
  • Results, their sources, and what remains unconfirmed

From career facts to a job-specific resume

  1. Collect your experience

Use onboarding to build a reusable profile. Already have a resume? Resume-tailor can work directly from it, too.

  2. Add the job description

Resume-tailor selects relevant experience and adjusts the emphasis for the role. Missing facts stay visible for review.

  3. Choose the output

Set the language, target market, and document format separately. Review the draft before sending it.

Fit, facts, and writing get separate checks

Role fit
Where your experience matches the requirements and where gaps remain.
Factual reliability
Whether statements are supported by the supplied career facts. Unconfirmed results need clarification.
Document quality
Structure, wording, and readability. A polished sentence still needs a factual basis.

Start with the experience you already have

Install the plugin in Claude Code or Codex using the repository instructions. Then bring your resume or work notes and a job description.

The plugin has no backend or telemetry of its own. Data handling depends on your AI host and enabled tools; their policies apply to the material you share.

A first prompt

Use onboarding to build or update my career profile from the resume and work notes I provide. Ask about missing details and record only facts I can confirm.

Then use resume-tailor to adapt my resume for this job: [job description].
Language: [language]. Target market: [market]. Format: [format].

Check role fit, factual reliability, and document quality separately. Do not invent experience or results.
